A day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and laughter has come to a close as the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office wraps up its 1st Annual One Pitch Kickball Tournament.
More than 300 people participated in the charity event benefitting 21 and Change, a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, education, and resources to individuals who are 'differently-abled' and their families.
Registration opened at 7:15 a.m. at the Ed Race Sports Complex in Tampa, followed by the National Anthem, and opening remarks by Sheriff Chad Chronister, who also presented 21 and Change with a $12,500 check on behalf of HCSO Charities. Kick-off took place at 8:00 a.m. Twenty-six teams competed for a variety of prizes and bragging-rights.
"It is always a good day when we can come together to support local non-profit organizations that make positive and impactful differences in our community," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Thank you to the hundreds of community members who, literally, stepped up to the plate to show their support. To our sponsors, we are endlessly grateful for your generosity that made this event possible."
