Man Arrested After Detectives Discover More Than 100 Files of Child Sexual Abuse Material

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) that resulted in the discovery of files on electronic devices at a Gibsonton residence.

On May 28, 2026, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip from a social media platform regarding a suspected file of CSAM uploaded through an account. Detectives investigated the tip and identified a suspect.

On October 20, 2026, detectives served a search warrant at a home in the 7600 block of Dragon Fly Loop in Gibsonton. During the investigation, detectives identified more than 100 files of CSAM on electronic devices.

Jalil Butler, 28, was arrested and charged with:

  • Solicitation or Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (10 or More Images and Content of Images) (x100)
  • In State Transmission of Child Sexual Abuse Material By Electronic Device
  • Unlawful Use of Two Way Communications Device
  • Tampering With Physical Evidence

“It’s appalling that individuals believe exploiting children is acceptable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Not in Hillsborough County. Our team of dedicated professionals will find these offenders and put them behind bars.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and any updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
