The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating a person of interest connected to a homicide investigation.
On May 17, 2021, just before midnight, deputies responded to the parking lot of the Fairfield Inn, 6720 Lakeview Center Drive in Tampa, for reports of a shooting. An adult male was located in the parking lot and pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have identified 26-year-old Michael Godfrey Evans, of Lakeland, as a person of interest in this investigation.
"Detectives want to talk to Mr. Evans about what he may have heard or saw, Monday night, in the parking lot of the Fairfield Inn," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call HCSO at 813-247-8200."
Evans may be driving a black, four-door Honda Civic with Florida Tag LVWD26.
Evan is descriped as:

- 26 years old
- 6'00" tall
- 240 Lbs
- Last seen wearing a white tank top, gray shorts, and unknown colored slides.
