
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect connected to a shooting that occurred on November 25, 2020, in Plant City.
Luis Jose Coronado, 30, was charged with manslaughter with a firearm, after shooting a known individual following an altercation at a home on the 5000 block of Sydney Road. On December 8, Coronado was taken into custody in Polk County. A previous booking photo for Coronado is included.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Plant City last night.
On November 25, 2020, at approximately 9:28 p.m., deputies responded to South Florida Baptist Hospital, located at 301 N Alexander Street in Plant City, in reference to a shooting. An adult male victim had been transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were performed on the victim, but he later died as a result of his injury.
Detectives later learned that the shooting occurred on the 5000 block of Sydney Road in Plant City. They responded to the incident scene and executed a court-authorized search warrant on the home where the shooting took place earlier in the evening. There, detectives conducted interviews with the occupants of the home.
This remains an active investigation. At this time, it is believed the victim and shooter are known to each other, and there is no threat to the public.
"If you saw or heard anything last night on Sydney Road last night, I'm urging you to please come forward with that information," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "What may seem like a small piece of information could go a long way into solving what happened to this victim last night."
