- The victim, Julio Herrera, moved with most of his family from Mexico to Hillsborough county, specifically Wimauma, a rural farm area. Julio acquired a large amount of property which he farmed. The convenience store where he was murdered, belonged to his family at 18130 Hwy 301 South, Wimauma, FL. Julio allegedly brought large quantities of marijuana from Mexico to the U.S. On 29 December 1994, Julio stopped at the "Little Store" to purchase coffee and breakfast and chat with his sister as was his daily routine. His truck was parked in front of the business door. The suspects backed their vehicle into the space next to the victim's truck (south side). One of the suspects exited his vehicle and went to one of two pay phones at the corner of the business parking lot. He stood at the phone until Julio exited the store. Just as Julio got into his truck, the suspect approached Julio and shot him. Suspects fled north on Hwy 301. This case remains and unsolved homicide. Suspect Descriptions: #1: White Male, 35-37yoa, Approximately 5'9", 150-155lbs., Medium Build, Mustache, Goatee and Scruffy Beard. #2: White Male, Approximately 24yoa, Medium to Slender Build, Black Wavy Hair Shoulder Length, Cut Short on Sides, Light Mustache, Wearing Glasses
