Captain Bronner currently serve as the Captain of the Professional Standards Bureau, which oversees Internal Affairs, the Accreditation Unit, and the Body Worn Cameras Unit.
Captain Bronner is originally from Syracuse, New York, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Utica College of Syracuse University. He began his career as a law enforcement officer with the St. Petersburg Police Department in 2003. During his tenure, Captain Bronner was a Patrol Officer, a Community Resource Officer, and a member of the Street Crimes Unit prior to being hired with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
As a deputy with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Captain Bronner served in Patrol and was a Field Training Deputy for over three years. Captain Bronner was assigned to Street Crimes before being promoted to detective, where he worked in General Offense in the District IV General Offense section. He was then assigned to the Homicide Section prior to being promoted to the rank of Corporal.
As a Corporal, Captain Bronner supervised in District IV Patrol, District IV Street Crimes, and the Professional Standards Bureau. Captain Bronner was later promoted to Sergeant, serving in District V Patrol, District IV General Offense, and the Special Investigations Division, where he supervised the Opioid Overdose Investigations unit. As a Lieutenant, he served for over two years in the Criminal Investigations Division before being promoted to his current role as Captain of the Professional Standards Bureau in November 2025.
In 2025, Captain Bronner was a graduate of the National Public Safety Innovation Academy’s fifth session. Captain Bronner's hobbies include golfing, fishing, and hunting.
