Jail Division I

Captain Saraque Stokes began her career with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2010 and currently serves as the Deputy Division Commander for Jail Division I. Throughout her career, Captain Stokes has held a variety of supervisory positions, including Central Booking Corporal, Confinement Sergeant, Day Shift Commander, and the Operations Lieutenant. In her role as the Operations Lieutenant, she was responsible for evaluating daily operations across three jail divisions.

Before beginning her law enforcement career, Captain Stokes was a student-athlete at the University of Miami, where she competed in Track and Field from 1999 to 2003. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami in 2003 and later completed a Master’s Degree in Critical Incident Management from Saint Leo University. Captain Stokes is also a recent graduate of the 88th Southern Police Institute Command Officer’s Development Course and the Florida Sheriffs Association Commanders Academy.

Captain Stokes has been married for 21 years and is the proud mother of three sons.
