Captain Michael Kuettner currently serves as the Deputy Division Commander for the Criminal Investigations Division.
He began his career with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's in 2003 and has held positions as deputy and detective in Patrol, Street Crimes, and the District I Intelligence Unit. In 2013, Captain Kuettner was promoted to the rank of corporal and assigned to Patrol in District II as a field training supervisor. He also served as the administrative corporal to the Colonel of the Department of Patrol Services.
In 2015, Captain Kuettner was promoted to the rank of sergeant and was assigned to the Training Division to oversee the training of law enforcement recruits and yearly in-service training for all law enforcement personnel. He was also assigned as a sergeant in patrol in District V as a field training supervisor. In 2018, Captain Kuettner was promoted to the rank of lieutenant where he has held positions in District I and District III. He was also the field training coordinator during his time as a lieutenant.
On November 14, 2022, Captain Kuettner was promoted to the rank of captain and assigned to District I. Captain Kuettner has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida. He is also a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police Session 79.
