Marlen Bogan serves as the Chief Technology Officer at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, where he provides executive leadership to nine functional and operational areas. These teams include Business Support, Criminal Justice Systems, Field Support, Help Desk, Infrastructure, Security, Application Development, Application Administration, and Project Management. With over 20 years of experience in information technology, Marlen manages and evaluates more than 80 employees across various technical domains, ensuring comprehensive support and innovative solutions at all organizational levels.
Marlen develops and aligns technology strategies and roadmaps with the Sheriff’s Office goals and business priorities, enhancing communication and operational efficiency. He leads technology discussions, organizes and assigns work to professional-level subordinates, and ensures adherence to all standard operating procedures and security policies. His efforts significantly enhance the security and operational capabilities of the Sheriff's Office.
Marlen maintains an awareness of new technologies and trends, processes essential documentation, and communicates effectively with leadership and external partners. As a pivotal member of the ISD management and technology teams, and an occasional acting CIO, Marlen plays a critical role in maintaining the technological integrity and advancement of the Sheriff's Office. Marlen holds a B.S. in Technical Management from DeVry University and multiple technical certifications.
