Captain Felipe Docobo was born and raised in Hillsborough County and is a proud second-generation law enforcement officer. He began his career with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University.

Captain Docobo started his career as a patrol deputy in the Hillsborough County’s southern district before being promoted to detective within the Special Investigations Division. In that role, he served in an undercover capacity and participated in numerous federal investigations targeting narcotics trafficking and domestic terrorism.

In 2013, Captain Docobo was promoted to a supervisory role, beginning a progression of leadership assignments that spanned Field Training, Street Crimes, District Investigations and Intelligence, Special Investigations, Criminal Investigations, and the Training Division. He currently serves as the Deputy Division Commander of the Homeland Security Division. Captain Docobo teaches and also serves on the executive committee for the Sheriff’s Leadership Academy. 

Captain Docobo is a graduate of the National Public Safety Innovation Academy’s third session. He is married and the proud father of two children.
