Chad Cave, Captain

Captain Chad Cave began his career with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2006. He served as a deputy in District I, working in Patrol, Field Training, and Street Crimes, and later as a Detective in the Special Investigations Division.

Captain Cave has held supervisory roles in Patrol Districts I and III, the Department of Patrol Services administration, the Criminal Investigations Division, and the Special Investigations Division. These supervisory assignments included Patrol, the Street Crimes Unit, the Homicide Unit, and District I Investigations. In 2023, he was promoted to Captain and currently serves as the Deputy Division Commander for the Special Investigations Division.

Captain Cave holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida. He is also a graduate of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Senior Leadership Program and the Florida Leadership Academy.
