Captain Alton McCullough is a career law enforcement officer who has served with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office since 1990. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He began his career under Sheriff Walter C. Heinrich, subsequently working for and being promoted through the ranks under Sheriff Cal Henderson, Sheriff David Gee and now Sheriff Chad Chronister.  

Captain McCullough has held numerous positions within the Sheriff’s Office during his tenure. Some of his assignments during his tenure included Patrol, Special Operations, Warrants, Public Affairs, Robbery, and then Homicide, before being promoted to the rank of corporal.  He then served in Patrol and Homeland Security before being promoted to sergeant.  As a sergeant, he served in Patrol and Intelligence.  He was later promoted to lieutenant.  At his current rank, he is the Deputy Division Commander of District IV.
