Explorer Post 238

Explorer Post 238 is a program designed for youth ages 14 through 20, who are interested in a law enforcement or related career. Explorers train in various areas of the law enforcement operations such as:

  • Hostage negotiations
  • Domestic violence
  • Crime scene
  • Bomb threat response
  • First aid

Post 238 also participates in the ride-a-long program with patrol deputies.
 

Admissions Requirements

Several times each year, explorers test their skills and knowledge in state and national competitions with other explorer posts. In addition to training and competitions, explorers obtain volunteer hours at various community and charity events.

  • Youth ages 14-20
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Be of good moral character and discipline
  • Pass a comprehensive background check
  • Have the ability to maintain at least 15 hours of post activity each month
  • Pay weekly membership dues of $2.00
  • Pay $30.00 application fee

How to Apply

To apply for the program membership you must download the Enrollment Application Packet (some of them must be notarized). You can return the enrollment forms by mail to the address listed below.
