Before You File a Police Report Online

 

All reports submitted online are subject to public release per Florida Statute §119.

Filing a false police report is a crime.

Before filing a police report online you must verify you meet the criteria listed below:

  • Incident happened in Unincorporated Hillsborough County
  • You are 18 years or older
  • Not an emergency (Call 9-1-1 for emergencies)
  • Not an in-progress crime 
  • Not in immediate danger

After You File a Report

After you complete the police report online you will:

  • See the words "Your online police report has been submitted" showing that your police report is complete.
  • Receive a confirmation email that your report was received.

Filing Process

  • All cases filed online will be reviewed by Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
  • Upon review, if further investigation of  your case is needed, you may be contacted.

Police Report Copies

If you need an official copy of the police report you filed online, please visit our Records Request Center. There is  a 36 hour process time for review and transcription of the police report.
