The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after an inmate passed away at the hospital.
On November 26, 2025, at 11:17 a.m., deputies at the Falkenburg Road Jail were alerted to an apparent medical event involving inmate Larue Matthew Dorsey III, 46. Dorsey had been in custody since July 7, 2025.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue transported Dorsey from the facility, and he was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 12:19 p.m.
The Medical Examiner's Office will determine his cause of death. Next of kin has been notified.
The investigation is ongoing. The Public Affairs Office will release any further updates.
