The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder-suicide on the 2400 block of Drake Elm Terrace in Valrico.
On March 19, 2025, at 3:49 a.m., HCSO dispatchers received a 911 call from a woman reporting a disturbance inside her home. In the background, dispatchers could hear an argument between the woman, her estranged husband, and her boyfriend.
At 3:51 a.m., a 12-year-old boy inside the home called 911, reporting that his father had broken in. Moments later, gunshots were heard.
Deputies arrived at 3:56 a.m. and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Outside the residence, they found a vehicle and what is believed to be the suspect on fire. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
“This was a horrific and senseless act of violence that left two people dead and a woman and her son in unimaginable distress. No one should ever have to experience this kind of tragedy,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This is a devastating reminder of how dangerous domestic situations can become.
