The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man after a two-month-long investigation into child sexual abuse material and bestiality.
Detectives began the investigation after being alerted to child pornography being downloaded to an IP address in Brandon. A search warrant at the residence uncovered hundreds of files of child sexual abuse material and three videos of bestiality.
On March 13, 2026, detectives arrested Matthew McGuinness, 56, and he has been charged with:
- Solicitation or Possession of Child Pornography 10 or More Images and Content of Images (x100)
- Film, Distribute, or Possess Image or Video of Sexual Activity With an Animal (x3)
"Crimes that exploit children and involve the abuse of animals are deeply disturbing and will never be tolerated in our community," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Our detectives worked long hours to make sure this person will answer for their crimes. We will continue doing everything in our power to hold those who prey on the most vulnerable fully accountable."
