Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives are conducting a death investigation surrounding the passing of an inmate housed at the Falkenburg Road Jail.
On July 8, 2020, inmate Jason Charles Zoet, 58, suffered a medical episode and was brought to Tampa General Hospital. On July 13, Zoet was pronounced dead at the hospital. Zoet had a history of a preexisting medical condition.
Next of Kin has been notified. The cause of death has not been determined, pending the results from the Medical Examiner's Office.
No other details are available at this time as the investigation is ongoing. Updates will be released from the Public Affairs Office.
