The man accused of burning down a mobile home hours after a three people were killed has now been charged with murder. Throughout the course of the investigation, detectives identified Xavier Whitehead as one of the men in the two previously-released surveillance videos. A warrant was issued and Whitehead was arrested in December of 2018. Detectives continued to work the case and now Whitehead is charged with three counts of First Degree Murder.Another suspect, Ricky Wilkerson Jr. (DOB: 10/17/1995), remains in custody charged in connection with this triple homicide.
On November 15, 2018, at approximately 3:05 p.m., HCSO dispatch received a 911 call leading deputies to 6221 16th Avenue South in Tampa for a house fire. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded and found a mobile home in the back of the property on fire. Firefighters entered the residence and located three people deceased inside.
A neighborhood canvas was conducted and video was located from surrounding residences, which captured three subjects exiting a white Nissan Altima at the residence. The cameras also capture a gray Infiniti at the residence shortly after, where one subject exits and ignites the residence on fire.
This investigation is ongoing.
