The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce the graduation of Law Enforcement Class 22-02, the first to complete the Sheriff's Training Academy.
In November 2021, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received full approval from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) to become a state-certified training center by holding a type A certification. This allows HCSO to offer advanced and specialized courses and operate its own law enforcement and detention academies at the Sheriff’s Office, one of the few in the nation to do so.
"Every group of graduates is special and unique, and that remains the same for Law Enforcement Class 22-02," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We are proud to showcase what this group of law enforcement cadets will bring to our community after spending months learning from HCSO instructors who have worked diligently to make the Sheriff's Training Academy a success early on. It truly takes a village."
31 cadets will be deputized in a ceremony today.
