Detectives Make Additional Arrest in 2021 Homicide

UPDATE: The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has made an additional arrest on a 2021 homicide investigation.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office launched a homicide investigation on June 22, 2021, at the 600 block of Manatee Drive after a teenage male was found deceased. After a lengthy investigation, detectives were able to identify a second suspect, Jesus Fuentes-Maceda, now 19, who is facing charges of First Degree Premeditated Murder, First Degree Felony Murder, and Robbery With a Firearm.

"This investigation is a testament to the dedicated work of our detectives," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Nearly two years after this tragic loss of life, our detectives remained committed to solving this case. They left no stone unturned, and now this young man will face the consequences of his actions."

Detectives issued the arrest warrant for Fuentes-Maceda. On Friday, March 31, 2023, he was located in Ruskin by the U.S. Marshall's Task Force and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center because he was a juvenile when this offense occurred.
