Overview

Manage the activities of a centralized storeroom or warehouse by providing direction to staff and supervision of materials, equipment, supplies, receiving processes, warehousing, and distribution services.

Duties & Responsibilities

Note: Depending on assigned responsibilities, employees may perform some or all of the duties below.

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Sheriff’s Office Warehouse while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.

  • Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock.

  • Conduct physical counts of products and reconcile with data to maintain adequate inventory levels; analyze any variances and make necessary corrections.

  • Manage warehouse associates through monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.

  • Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees; maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

  • Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse; create and manage receiving, warehousing, and distribution processes and procedures and confirm staff compliance.

  • Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leads.

  • Keep up-to-date on the latest federal and state safety regulations.

  • Coordinate with other areas within own organization and external agencies/departments to ensure efficient flow of communications and services.

  • Inspect all warehouse equipment and order repairs/replacements when required.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • A high school diploma or possession of a GED certificate.

  • Seven years of experience in receiving and issuing equipment or supplies, four of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Attendance at the specified Sheriff's Office work location is required.

  • Depending on assignment, employees may be required to possess a valid Florida Driver License at time of employment. Driving history will be thoroughly reviewed and may be grounds for disqualification.

  • No visible tattoos on face, head, and neck. Tattoos determined to take away from the professional appearance of the Sheriff’s Office must be covered with an appropriate white, black, or neutral covering.

  • No illegal drug sale within lifetime.

  • No illegal drug use within the past 36 months. No marijuana use within the last 12 months.

  • No felony convictions within lifetime.

  • No misdemeanor convictions involving perjury, false statement, or domestic violence within lifetime.

  • No dishonorable discharge from any branch of the United States Armed Forces, the United States Coast Guard, National Guard, or Reserve Forces.

  • Successful completion of a background investigation including criminal, reference, employment, and neighborhood checks; polygraph; medical evaluation; and drug screening.
