Why/How:

On December 19, 2009 at 11:42 pm, Paul Parks was driving a 1998 GMC Pick-Up eastbound on Big Bend Road in the westbound lane. Karen Weaver was westbound on Big Bend Road driving a 200 Jeep Renegade when both vehicles struck head on just east of Heritage Green Parkway. After the impact, both vehicles traveled a short distance east and struck a 2006 Chevrolet driven by Michael Toolan.
Karen Weaver was severely injured and died at the scene. Paul Parks was inured and was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Michael Toolan was uninjured.
Traffic Homicide Detectives have not yet filed any charges pending further investigation of this event. Next of Kin has been notified.
