The Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Economic Crimes Section arrested six subjects in connection with an ongoing organized fraud ring that was targeting a local WalMart.  The investigation was initiated when WalMart was alerted by customers that were billed with purchases that they had no knowledge of. The suspects on November 9th conducted 22 fraudulent transactions at the store and on November 10th, made 44 fraudulent transactions with cashier - Elizabeth Robaina whom was receiving monetary compensation for her participation.  The suspects purchased over $13,000 worth of gift cards with the stolen credit card numbers all at the same store - 8220 N. Dale Mabry Highway.  It is unclear at this time how the credit card numbers were duplicated.

Detectives were conducting surveillance at the store and at the time of their arrests, numerous stolen credit cards and gift cards were recovered.  The investigation will continue as the expected total losses to various victims will exceed $200,000.  It is anticipated that numerous identity theft victims will be discovered as the investigation continues.  The Tampa Office of the United States Secret Service is also participating in this investigation.

It is unclear as to the relationship of all the suspects.
