Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of a plane crash at the Tampa Executive Airport formerly known as Vandenburg Airport.

 

Preliminary indications are that a single engine "Cessna 206" was attempting to land and the front landing gear failed in some way causing the plane to slide over the runway, the front wheel to come off and resulting in the prop hitting the runway and the plane doing a nose dive into the pavement.

 

There were only two people on board who both received minor cuts.  They were treated at the scene and released.

 

The couple was flying into Tampa to attend the Aircraft and Pilot Association conference/meeting.
