Hillsborough County Sheriff's detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying two people who used credit cards from purses stolen from two teachers at Folsom Elementary School.

The thefts occurred on September 21, 2009 at the school, 9855 Harney Road, between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Two teachers who share a classroom on the second floor said they put their purses in a file cabinet and locked it, then went to lunch with the students. When the teachers returned to the class, which was not locked during the lunch hour, they noticed the file cabinet had been pried open and the purses were gone.

The teachers' credit cards were used by the thieves at a Citgo gas station in eastern Hillsborough County, a Shell gas station on County Line Road in Polk County, a liquor store in Lakeland, a food mart in Auburndale, and a Publix in Winter Haven. The thieves charged more than $500 on the cards.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS or the Sheriff's Office at
