HCSO SWAT Captures Gang Member Wanted for Sexual Battery/Kidnapping

Victims: Confidential

Arrested:Reaves, Cornelius Davidson DOB 01-29-85
4209 Woodsprings Lane Apt 109,Tampa Florida
                Woodsprings Apartment Complex

Charges: Sexual Battery
                Kidnapping
                Burglary with a Battery
                Aggravated Assault

On October 14, 2009 a 20 year old female and her 2 year old daughter were inside their residence when the suspect Cornelius Reaves forced his way into the victim's residence. Reaves then sexually assaulted the 20 year old and fled the scene with his biological 2 year old daughter.

Detectives immediately began searching for the child and quickly located her unharmed with an acquaintance of Reaves. The child was then safely returned to her mother and warrants were issued for Reaves.

On the evening of October 15 2009, HCSO members of the Special Investigative Division and District 1 Selective Enforcement Squad located Reaves hiding inside 4209 Woodspring Lane, Apt 109 and possibly armed. Detectives surrounded the apartment and HCSO SWAT was called to the scene.

Repeated attempts were made to contact Reaves giving him an opportunity to exit the apartment and peacefully surrender. After Reaves refused to exit the apartment, SWAT members made tactical entry into the apartment and took Reaves into custody without any injuries. Once arrested, further investigation verified Reaves is a certified local gang member of the "Hot Boyz".

Reaves was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail and is currently being held without bond.
