Update: Detectives would like to speak with John Echevarria, DOB 10-14-90 who witnessed the shooting. Detectives would like to establish if the victim was shot accidental or intentionally. Detectives recovered a firearm at the scene. Description of Echevarria - black male, black hair, brown eyes, 5’9”, medium build.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred this morning between 3:30 - 4:00 a.m. at the address of 8320 Crystal Harbor Drive, apartment 202 in Tampa.
Deputies responded to a domestic related call at the apartment complex and discovered a 19 year old female had been shot. The female was transported to St. Josephs Hospital where she remains in critical condition.
She has been identified as Essence Jade Jovan Williams, DOB 3-27-90. Ms. Williams had been staying at the apartment with friends.
It is unclear at this time how the shooting occurred.
The investigation continues at this time and there is no other information.
