Suspect:  Cedrick Bontray Salter,  DOB 12-28-80

          At large address

          Warrant issued for Armed Burglary and

          1st Degree Murder

The suspect has a nickname of “Woogie”

The victim and the suspect have two children together - 18 month old twins (male and female).  The suspect had been visiting the family yesterday and had been trying to reach the victim via telephone today.  The victim was not answering her telephone and this evening the suspect broke into the residence via a laundry room.  Once inside the residence, he confronted the victim and they had a verbal exchange.  The confrontation continued into the bedroom and as the victim was exiting the bedroom carrying her 18 month old daughter the suspect shot the victim in the upper torso.  The victim died at the scene. 

The 18 month old was not injured.  The suspect then fled the scene.

 

The victims two other daughters (ages 10 & 7) as well as other family members were home at the time of the shooting but were not injured.

 

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Cedrick Salter charging him with Armed Burglary and 1st Degree Murder.
