UPDATE: Wednesday, September 09, 2009: The 7 year old child, Anja-J'Kovi has died as a result of injuries she received when the van struck the retaining wall while unrestrained inside the van. The investigation is on going.

A Chrysler Voyager carrying 11 children crashed into a retaining wall on Lynn-Turner Road on Monday morning, leaving a 7-year-old girl in critical condition. None of the children, who ranged in age from 3-15, was wearing a seat belt.
This occurred around 10 a.m. as the 2000 Chrysler was southbound on Lynn-Turner Road near Village View Drive. The driver of the van failed to slow for traffic ahead, and swerved. The van then hit a concrete wall. Only the 7-uear-old girl sustained incapacitating injuries.
The driver of the Chrysler was Amanda J. Nelson, DOB 10/17/74, of 5740 Ridgestong Drive, Tampa. She also was not wearing a seat belt.
The investigation continues.
