Sheriff's Detectives Bust Organized Ring of Counterfeit Check Writers

On 08/08/09 at 11:40 a.m. detectives from Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division's Economic Crimes Section & Special Investigations Division's STAR Squad executed a search warrant at 4206 Sable Park Drive #102 in Tampa Fl.

 

Approximately two months ago detective's identified an organized group of counterfeit check manufacturers and check passers who have been operating in and around Hillsborough County. During the search warrant detective's seized computer equipment and other materials used for making counterfeiting check, along with over $8000 in cash.

All arrested individuals were booked into the Hillsborough County Jail without incident.

 

This investigation remains very active as detectives will continue searching for additional suspects.
