Deputies responded to Sin City nightclub at 2:17 a.m. after someone called our Communications Center about gunshots fired in the parking lot. Deputies arrived and found no victims, only spent shell casings. Around 2:47 a.m. Tampa police responded to a call for help at 2218 E. Chelsea Street and found a gunshot victim in the backseat of a sedan. The victim, Marcus Byron Wesley, died at the scene. Shortly afterward, law enforcement was contacted about a second gunshot victim who was brought by private vehicle to St. Joseph’s Hospital. That victim, a 22-year-old male, was wounded in the leg and remains in serious condition.

HCSO detectives determined the two victims had been in the parking lot of the nightclub, got into a fight with another adult male/males and were shot. Both victims were transported from the parking lot in a private vehicle to the Chelsea Street address where authorities were summoned.

Detectives are working to compile a description of the suspect(s) and any possible vehicle involved.
