Why/How:

On June 27, 2009 at approximately 3:00 p.m. Damon Scott, DOB 9-25-70 (husband of victim) reported his wife missing. According to the husband, Terrie Scott had gone to the Public Storage to retrieve some items from a friend’s storage unit. According to the manager, she arrived at the storage business at approximately 2:45 p.m. She then drove to the unit and that is the last time she was seen.
At approximately 3:00 p.m. Damon Scott arrived at the business looking for his wife. He and the manager drove to the storage unit and discovered the vehicle Terrie was driving outside the storage unit (van which belongs to his parent). The vehicle was running and the storage unit (approx. 3 x 5) was open. He looked inside the unit and did not see her. He then proceeded to ask several other individuals that are at other units if they have seen his wife, to no avail.
Damon Scott called the Sheriff's Office and a deputy responded. The initial deputy called for a K-9 unit to respond. The K-9 discovered the victim's body concealed by items inside the store unit. At that time deputies exited the unit and began the process to obtain a search warrant in order to gain access to the storage unit. A search warrant was needed due to the fact that the unit was rented by a female friend of the victim.
At approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning, June 28, 2009 detectives served the search warrant and began processing the scene. The victim's body was concealed by items within the storage unit and was not visible by initially looking through the door. The victim suffered trauma to the upper body. The Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine cause of death.
Detectives will be conducting interviews with friends and family today.
