HEALTH & WELLNESS FAIR

Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee recognizes the tremendous amount of work employees deliver to serve and protect our community. To show his appreciation, he has asked the Risk Management/Employee Benefits Bureau to provide the employees a robust offering of health awareness information and services. Sheriff Gee firmly believes these types of health screenings will increase employee’s health awareness and thus help reduce employee injuries and identify early signs of medical issues in early stages.

The Risk Management & Employee Benefits Bureau will host a Health and Wellness Fair for Sheriff’s Office employees’ behalf on Tuesday June 16, 2009. Here is a brief "line up" of the more than 53 venders who have volunteered to participate at no cost to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

v      Health screenings – blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose (fasting or non-fasting)

v      Information sessions on nutrition, weight management, stress management

v      Nutrition/Body Comp – info on body composition, weight measurement, body mass index

v      Inno-Vision – vision screening

v      Hear-x USA – hearing screening

v      American Cancer Society

v      Also, Crime Prevention Bureau will set up a bake sale of healthier snack choices, such as banana nut bread, carrot cake, etc.  Proceeds will benefit Crime Prevention projects.
