On June 8, 2009, United States Federal Judge Steven D. Merryday sentenced Jamison Bell to 15 years in the Federal Bureau of Prisons to be followed by 8 years of Federal Supervised Probation for Possession with intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine and Conspiracy to Distribute Crack Cocaine. Bell is a Blood gang member who plead guilty to the aforementioned offenses. His lengthy sentence is a result of his long criminal history and numerous felony convictions.
Between January 13, 2009 and January 16, 2009, Detectives of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Gang Enforcement Section made undercover purchases of crack cocaine which culminated in the arrest and federal indictment of Bell and his codefendant David Bullock who is also awaiting sentencing. This prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Tuite.
This is another case prosecuted as part of the Federal Department of Justice’s “Project Safe Neighborhoods” “Comprehensive Anti-Gang Initiative” which includes Hillsborough County. |
