On May 16, 2009 deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle in which a white male, later identified as Luke Drawdy was injecting himself, in the arm with a hypodermic needle.  Upon deputies arrival they observed Drawdy sitting in his vehicle, with blood coming from his arm.  The deputies made contact with Drawdy and received consent to search him and his vehicle.  Upon searching the vehicle a large quantity of scheduled narcotics to include 108.8 grams of Hydromorphone, 16.6 grams of Oxycodone and 1823.1 grams of Diprivan.  Other narcotics as well as medical drugs and drug paraphernalia were found with the vehicle.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that Luke Drawdy had stolen the drugs from his employer, University Community Hospital where he is employed as a Registered Nurse.  Luke Drawdy was taken into custody and charged with 59 various charges ranging from Trafficking in Hydromorphone, Obtaining Controlled Substance by Fraud, Grand Theft.
