HCSO Detectives Charge Woman With Man's Murder
Today, HCSO detectives arrested Tamra Suzanne Leasure, DOB 6/16/65, of 12920 Shadow Run Boulevard, Riverview, with the second-degree murder of Arthur R. Tilley, Jr., DOB 5/8/51.
The victim was shot and killed in the defendant's home on March 5, 2009. The victim, a resident of Dedham, Maine, had been staying at the defendant's home for several days. The defendant shot the victim three times with her .38-caliber handgun, and then placed the gun in the victim's hand to stage a suicide.
The investigation determined that the defendant and victim were arguing in the kitchen when the defendant pulled the revolver and fired, hitting the victim three times - in the head, neck and torso. The defendant told detectives she called 911 to report a suicide, and placed the revolver in the victim's right hand to make it appear so. The defendant told detectives during an interview that "the third shot was not necessary.''
The defendant was arrested this afternoon at her residence. She will be booked tonight at the Orient Road Jail.
