On Friday, March 27, 2009, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ken Escobio will be honored at the Heroes for the American Red Cross luncheon.  The event is being held to recognize individuals in the community who have shown compassion, courage and character through acts of heroism and kindness.  The American Red Cross will acknowledge individuals in the following categories:

Humanitarian Hero, Workplace Safety Hero, First Responder Hero, Animal Rescue Hero, Military Hero, Water Safety Hero and Community Partner Hero.

 

Sergeant Ken Escobio was chosen as a Community Partner Hero for his work on “Operation Patriot”.    Operation Patriot was founded to assist the residents of Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home with their daily needs. 

 

Keynote speaker at the event will be Lieutenant General Russel L. Honore’.
