This morning at approximately 12:15 a.m. the suspect clothed himself entirely in black and placed rubber gloves on his hands.  The suspect then unlawfully entered the victim’s residence. Upon entry the suspect stabbed the victim approximately seven times in the chest and abdomen with a knife.  Witnesses heard the victim screaming and responded to render aid.  The suspect was then observed by witnesses fleeing out of the victim’s residence.  The suspect attempted to elude the witnesses, but they were able to detain the suspect until deputies arrived.  The suspect was still wearing the rubber gloves with the victim’s blood on the gloves.   The suspect admitted to deputies that he knew the victim and that he had borrowed money from him in the past.

 

The victim was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. 

 

The suspect was also transported to Tampa General Hospital to be medically cleared.  He was complaining of shoulder pain.
