Passenger: Flavio Garcia, dob: 05/07/78 (fatal 2/17/09)

The second passenger died as a result of injuries he sustained in the crash.

Three male passengers.  (1 deceased at the scene – 2 transported to Tampa General Hospital)

When:

February 17, 2009 at 11:26 p.m.

Where:

Moores Lake Road just north of Black Jack Road

Why/How:

 

 

 

 

The 1993 Dodge Van, operated by Efren Altunar was traveling northbound on Moores Lake Road and crossed the center line.  The van then struck a southbound tractor trailer head on.  The right front passenger in the van expired at the scene.  The driver and two other passengers in the van were transported to Tampa General Hospital by helicopter.  The driver is in serious condition and the two passengers are in critical condition.  Alcohol is suspected.

 

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
