Why/How:
|
On February 28, 2009 at approximately 7:00 p.m. the nine year old victim was visiting the defendant’s motor home. The defendant is known to the victim and her family. The defendant was in the act of committing a lewd and lascivious battery upon the victim when the victim’s mother entered the motor home and witnessed the offense. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the defendant had additionally, committed a sexual battery upon the victim. At that time, the defendant fled in his vehicle.
On March 1, 2009 at approximately 2:30 a.m. a warrant was issued for the defendant’s arrest. During the morning hours of March 1, 2009, the defendant turned himself in to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Hillsborough County detectives responded to the Brevard County Jail and interviewed Timothy Highfield. Highfield admitted to the offenses.
He will be extradited back to Hillsborough County. |
