UPDATE:  Today, Thursday, February 12, 2009 based on forensic evidence discovered on the suspect’s computer, the suspect has been charged with the following additional charges:

 

Charges: Sexual Performance of a child (Promotion) 4 counts

               Sexual Performance of a child (Possession) 196 counts

On September 2, 2006, while at the suspect’s residence located at 8504 Misty River Court in Tampa, the victim’s (14 & 16 years of age) which are friends, engaged in sexual conduct at the direction of the suspect.  The conduct included both victim’s being in various stages of clothing and performing various lewd or sexual acts.  During these acts, the defendant utilized digital photography in order to capture the acts or images of the victims.  During the incidents, the suspect also provided alcoholic beverages to the victim’s and would provide them with money. The suspect befriended the victims and would pay them to assist with computer repairs.

 

On December 30, 2008, victim number #1 provided the Sheriff’s Office a CD from the defendant that he had provided her on an earlier date.  The CD was given to the victim when she had gone to his residence to have work done on a computer (suspect does computer repairs/work out of his residence).   

 

Today, February 5, 2009 detectives arrested Coppolino at his residence on the above charges.  A search warrant was also conducted at his residence resulting in the seizure of approximately 40 computers.  The computers will be examined by Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
