Driver Tries To Ram Deputies, Causes 3 Crashes With Civilian Vehicles

Synopsis: Deputies were called to a fight at a house at 4343 Honey Vista Court on Friday around 11:43 p.m. When deputies arrived they spotted an individual speeding from the scene in a Mitsubishi. On Honey Vista Drive, a deputy had to drive his patrol car off the road to avoid being hit by the Mitsubishi.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver continued to drive erratically, tried to ram a deputy's cruiser two more times and caused two hit-and-run crashes with other vehicles before colliding with a third car, a Ford Focus, and pushed it into a telephone pole at Ambassador Loop and North Boulevard. Deputies helped the driver of the Ford Focus from her vehicle as the suspect's vehicle began to catch fire. Deputies utilized a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. The suspect was removed from his vehicles and placed in wrist and leg restraints. The pursuit lasted about 9 minutes.

The suspect was taken to University Community Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crashes. None of the citizens were seriously injured, and no deputies were injured during this incident.
