The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office wants to set the record straight about information released this week to the media regarding the threat assessment surrounding the Super Bowl at Raymond James Stadium.  Information was disseminated which referred to hundreds of Sheriff’s Office uniforms which were lost or stolen in 2008.

The fact is only 5 evidence technician uniforms went missing from a Sheriff’s Office vehicle in April 2008. Those uniforms were green polo shirts embroidered with the technician’s name and the words “Evidence’’ and green khaki style pants. Those uniforms do not resemble a typical deputy’s uniform.
