Colonel Ciro M. Dominguez has been with the Sheriff's Office since 2013 and serves as the commander of the Department of Operational Support.
He is responsible for managing the Homeland Security Division which is comprised of the following sections: Aviation; Marine; Canine; SWAT; Special Incident Management; Agriculture; and Environmental.
Colonel Dominguez is also responsible for the Training Division, which seeks to provide the highest quality training for Sheriff’s Office recruits and deputies. Additionally, Colonel Dominguez oversees the Community Outreach Division which is responsible for providing School Resource Deputies, crossing guards, and school security personnel to ensure our children are safe while at school. Community Outreach also works with our community partners to better connect the Sheriff’s Office with the citizens we serve.
Colonel Dominguez is a veteran law enforcement professional since 1982, and has held leadership positions in municipal, county and state agencies. Throughout his career he has worked a variety of assignments to include; patrol, investigations, training, internal affairs, tactical response, and domestic security.
Colonel Dominguez is a graduate of Barry University (Bachelor), Saint Leo University (Master in Criminal Justice Administration), and the 218th Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy. In addition, he is a graduate of the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute, FDLE's Foundational Leadership Program, and numerous leadership development courses. Colonel Dominguez is a graduate of several tactical-training schools as well as a FDLE certified instructor (Firearms, Defensive Tactics) and has taught numerous law enforcement classes around the state.
