Expansion of HCSO's Online Police Reporting Portal

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's online police reporting system is expanding. Individuals whose first language is Spanish will soon be able to file police reports in their native language.

The online reporting portal, launched earlier this year, will offer the same services entirely in Spanish. Its purpose is to allow individuals to report non-emergency incidents from the comfort of their computer or cell phone, without having to call a deputy to their home. They can provide supplemental information, such as pictures or video, and update reports with just a touch of a button.

"We are excited to enhance and expand our online reporting portal and also offer an exclusively Spanish version," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "It highlights our team's commitment to serving and protecting every citizen of Hillsborough County. We don't want language barriers to prevent residents from sharing important information with us. We want to continue to strengthen our relationship with the Spanish-speaking community, and overall, help us crackdown on criminal activity that may have gone unreported had we not offered these resources in Spanish."

The Spanish version of the portal is scheduled to go live later this month.
