HCSO responds to bomb threat called into business

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bomb threat that was called into an area business on Friday afternoon that led to a building evacuation.

Around 1:15 p.m., deputies responded to 4508 Woodland Corporate Blvd (Computer Generated Solutions) in reference to a bomb threat. An anonymous caller stated "You have four minutes and 29 seconds to get out of the building or it blows up". Deputies quickly arrived on scene, evacuated approximately 300 employees from the building and immediately secured the area.

A search was conducted of the building and parking lot with negative results. At the conclusion of the search, employees were allowed back into the building. Deputies are following up on leads trying to determine who called in the threat.

"We are relieved that this threat was not credible, and I am proud of the quick response and thorough search performed by my deputies," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Not only are threats like this a huge disruption to business, they also cause unnecessary fear and panic for innocent people involved. I can't say it enough, making a fake threat is not a joke and anyone caught doing it will be punished to the fullest extent of the law."

Pictures from the scene can be found below.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
